ACTIVITIES
Ansitz Hohenegg is the most beautiful starting point for all those who prefer to spend a lot of time in nature.
The Ansitz is far away from any roads, yet centrally located on the ridge between West and Upper Allgäu. An ideal starting point to discover both regions.
The West Allgäu with its lovely hilly wide landscape has its charms as the Oberallgäu, which appears with the 1834 m high Hochgrat, the highest mountain of the nearby Nagelfluhkette already much alpine.
To be honest, we could never choose a favorite time of year. This is because the nature around Hohenegg invites us to come outside the whole year, to experience and to spend an active holiday.
SUMMER TIME
All around Hohenegg nature shows itself from its most beautiful side. A fairytale forest, the alpine meadows and the spectacular Eistobel - almost on the doorstep - are complemented by a wide range of activities in the area. Everything for a varied holiday with demand.
From family hiking trails to challenging mountain and mountain bike tours for athletes, the landscape offers plenty of variety. Hiking maps with recommended routes and rucksacks are available for our guests.
There are many bike paths - both along the rivers in the plain, as well as uphill - downhill for mountain bikers. Nearby there is a well-stocked bike rental that has everything from e-bikes to children's bikes or trailers. Golf enthusiasts have beautiful places with a beautiful Alpine panorama in the area. The nearby small and large Lake Alpsee or, of course, about 35 km away Lake Constance invite for water sports and swimming.
WINTER TIME
Romantic winter hikes, tobogganing and skiing in the snowy landscape round off your winter holiday.
For relaxing hours with your children, we will be happy to give you our best tips for pleasant winter hikes. Also in the holiday program: sledding fun and evening torchlit hikes with the whole family. Enjoy a timeout together in our family In winter, the region offers its own special charms. The pristine white snow landscape is magical and invites to long winter walks, while the children can let off steam while tobogganing and building snowmen. Young and old can work out on snowshoes or cross-country skis on beautiful trails.
It´s not a hotspot for alpine skiers, but for a relaxed day of skiing. The skis can be strapped in front of the house. What could be nicer than a stop in your own "Stube", a hot choclat with or without a shot at the fireplace, without worrying about an available space in the crowded ski lodge.
Of course, within an hour there are also wonderful larger ski areas, we are happy to give you tips!
SPA BEREICH
For energy, relaxation and beauty we have a small fine SPA area.
The sauna made of local hand-planed spruce wood with a view of nature can be used either as a Finnish or organic steam sauna. Soothing herbal and steam baths are a blessing for the body and mind. The relaxation room with its cozy day beds is a retreat to relax and read.
